ASY5 – Fifth Generation Customs Management System
ASY5 represents the fifth generation of the ASYCUDA Customs Management System, built as a cloud-native and open-source platform to meet the evolving needs of digital trade governance. It provides enhanced scalability, interoperability, and cybersecurity, ensuring seamless integration with national and regional systems. The platform incorporates advanced Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to support predictive analytics, risk management, and automated decision-making. ASY5 introduces a modular, service-oriented architecture that allows administrations to adapt quickly to new trade regulations, technological shifts, and cross-border data requirements, marking a major leap forward in customs digitalization under the ASYCUDA New Generation framework.
National Integrated Electronic Single Window
Single Windows for Trade powered by ASYCUDA facilitate trade by providing a unified digital platform for seamless data exchange among traders, customs authorities, and regulatory agencies. These platforms integrate ministries, border control entities, and private-sector participants, eliminating redundant submissions, standardizing documentation, and enabling full visibility across the entire trade lifecycle. By accelerating clearance procedures, lowering compliance costs, and fostering robust inter-agency collaboration, ASYCUDA powered Single Windows for Trade align fully with the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement and the WCO data model. Successfully implemented in over 13 countries, they have significantly streamlined cross-border operations while enhancing transparency, efficiency, and institutional accountability.
ASYHUB – Data Integration Platform
ASYHUB provides a secure, interoperable data exchange layer linking customs systems with maritime, air, and postal carriers. Operating on open standards, the platform enables pre-arrival and pre-departure submission of cargo data, allowing customs to begin risk analysis before goods reach the border. This early visibility accelerates clearance and enhances border security while reducing congestion and idle time for traders and ports. The system is structured around three specialized modules, Maritime, Express, and Postal, each designed to facilitate real-time data exchange with carriers, logistics operators, and postal administrations. Together, they create a seamless digital environment for multimodal logistics integration and cross-border interoperability, offering a tangible step toward data-driven, regionally connected trade facilitation.
eCITES – Electronic Permit Management for CITES-Listed Species
Developed by UNCTAD in collaboration with the CITES Secretariat and UNEP, eCITES automates the trade permit process for endangered species. It manages the full permit lifecycle, from application to validation and cross-border verification, replacing paper-based workflows with secure, traceable digital exchanges. By integrating with customs and border systems, eCITES helps prevent illegal wildlife trade, ensures compliance with CITES obligations, and provides authorities with accurate, real-time trade statistics. The system supports biodiversity protection while improving the efficiency and transparency of environmental trade regulation.
ASYREC – Automated System for Relief Consignments
Jointly developed by UNCTAD and OCHA, ASYREC ensures the rapid clearance of humanitarian goods during emergencies. The system facilitates the registration, tracking, and prioritization of relief consignments, enabling customs and humanitarian actors to coordinate efficiently when time is critical. Built on ASYCUDA’s digital infrastructure, ASYREC accelerates clearance procedures while maintaining control and transparency, ensuring that essential goods, such as food, shelter, and medicine, reach affected populations without delay. It strengthens preparedness and resilience by providing countries with a standardized digital mechanism to manage humanitarian logistics in crisis situations.
ASYNTS – Automated System for New Transit Solutions
ASYNTS is a state-of-the-art IT solution developed in collaboration with the ASYCUDA Programme, National governments and the European Union (EU) to facilitate seamless transit operations aligned with EU standards. Built on the New Computerized Transit System (NCTS), ASYNTS enables full conformance with the EU’s NCTS P5 requirements, providing an efficient digital framework for managing international transit. Following successful completion of four rigorous conformance tests, ASYNTS was integrated into the EU NCTS network, enhancing transparency, predictability, and efficiency in transit procedures. The system improves supply chain management by ensuring smoother operations, better planning, and more reliable trade flows across regions.
ASYPX – Passenger Data Processing Module
ASYPX is a specialized passenger data processing solution that strengthens border management and security. By enabling real-time analysis of passenger information and travel documents, it allows customs and immigration authorities to assess risks before arrival and optimize inspection resources. The system supports interoperability with airline and border systems, enhances compliance with international travel security standards, and improves the efficiency of passenger clearance at ports, airports, and land crossings.
